Sabamin 90 capsules

Sabamin is a herbal medicine used for minor urinary problems caused by benign prostate enlargement, e.g. nocturnal urge to urinate. Sabamin contains saw palmetto extract.

Benign prostate enlargement is harmless and affects most men sooner or later. The changes can start as early as the age of 40, but not all men experience problems. One in two men over the age of 60 is affected by having frequent urges to urinate and having to urinate one or more times a night. Prostate enlargement is also a common reason why men's sexual desire decreases.

The prostate is located just below the bladder and surrounds the upper part of the urethra. Growth is controlled by the male sex hormone testosterone. The hormonal changes that occur as men get older are thought to be the reason why the prostate gland enlarges.

Then the urethra can be compressed and urine becomes more difficult to pass. It is called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and is in most cases completely harmless, but can cause problems in various areas of life, for example when night sleep suffers.

The symptoms of prostate enlargement are frequent urges to urinate, weak stream of urine, nocturnal visits to the toilet and impaired sexual function.

By the age of 50, the prostate is enlarged in most men. At age 60, 9 out of 10 have benign prostate enlargement and about half of these experience problems with nighttime toilet visits and urinary urgency. At age 80, almost all men have a disturbed night's sleep due to urinary urgency.

Urinary urges mean that you feel a sudden need to urinate regardless of the time of day. Despite severe urges, men may experience difficulty urinating and a feeling that the bladder is never completely empty.

Dosage & use

Adults and the elderly: 1 capsule per day. The capsule is swallowed whole with liquid, preferably with a meal. Do not use Sabamin if the capsule has cracked and the contents have leaked. Sabamin should not be used by children or women. The capsule is swallowed whole with liquid, preferably with a meal.

Content

The active substance in 1 capsule is 320 mg of saw palmetto fruit extract (Serenoa repens, fructus), corresponding to approx. 3.4 g of dried saw palmetto fruit. Other ingredients are gelatin (from pork), glycerol, water, liquid sorbitol (E420) and red, black and yellow iron oxide (E172).
